Parents: do you consider teen parents to be your "parental" equals?
I think judgement should be based upon how well the parent parents their children, not how old they are. I have met fabulous 17 year old mothers and really crappy 30 year old mothers. It all depends on the parent, the situation, and what your vision of "good parenting" really is. My sister was a teenage mother, having my nephew at 16. And I do not see anything different than I would from a mother who was 25 or older. She pays her bills and supports/takes care of her son. And I don't think there is ever anything wrong with family helping family. Everyone needs a break every once in awhile and these days money is tight EVERYWHERE so family watching/helping with children is the norm.
